I am Carmen Lorraine, a Dutch Korean artist who loves working digitally, in short animations and traditionally in ink and watercolor. I try to create with purpose and on my own terms. My most prevalent interests and obsessions are in music, especially in local alternative culture, activism, about themes such as the climate crisis, housing crisis and feminism, gore and the colors red and black. I have strong opinions about politics and the fact that black *is* a color.
My future is unclear but I have interest in comics, promotional work such as posters and flyers and courtroom sketches. I want my art to have a concrete use and purpose, which might be bringing people together for something they enjoy by making a flyer for an event or drawing important events in our democratic system.
